Baalbeck International Festival
About
Running since 1956, the Baalbeck International Festival stages opera, classical, jazz and Arabic concerts on the floodlit steps of the Temple of Bacchus, and is the oldest cultural festival in the Middle East. The 2025 edition, themed 'Pillars of Eternity', opened with Bizet's Carmen and closed with Hiba Tawaji's 'Stages'. Note: organisers have announced that the summer 2026 edition is postponed to a later date owing to the country's situation, check baalbeck.org.lb before planning around it.
