Al Sakhra Cliff House
Shemlan, Aley, Coast & Mountains·4.4(680)·$$$$
About
Perched on a Shemlan cliff with a sweeping view over Beirut and the Mediterranean, family-run Al Sakhra has served traditional Lebanese mezze since 1936. The stone building began life as stables for Prince Haidar Chehab, and the writer Amin al-Rihani is said to have given it its name, 'the Rock'. Much of the produce is grown locally, and the terrace is a classic spot for a long mountain lunch.
