Aammiq Wetland
About
Aammiq Wetland, at the foot of Mount Lebanon in the West Bekaa, is the country's largest remaining freshwater marsh and a Ramsar and UNESCO-recognised bird haven. Families can follow flat, easy trails past reed beds, ancient trees and grazing water buffaloes, spotting some of the 250-plus bird species recorded here. Bring water and a hat, as there are no shops on site, and plan two to three hours to explore.
