Massaya Winery, Tanail
About
On the historic Tanail estate between Chtaura and Zahle, Massaya is a landmark Lebanese winery and pot-still arak distillery run by the Ghosn brothers, wrapped in vineyards below the Mount Lebanon range. Alongside cellar tours and tastings of its Beqaa reds, rose and whites, the estate is loved for its rustic country buffet - saj bread, mezze and forgotten village recipes cooked by local women and eaten on long tables under the trees. A visit is a leisurely two-to-three-hour affair, best booked ahead for lunch in the gardens.
