Dhour el Choueir Summer Resort
About
At around 1,200 metres in the eastern Matn, Dhour el Choueir is a classic pre-war Lebanese hill resort set in deep pine forest and prized for its clean, cool air. Its old souk of stone-paved alleys and arched houses, along with springs, ancient mills and stone bridges, draws summering families and diaspora visitors back year after year. Each August the town throws a carnival honouring Lebanon's emigrants.
