Btekhnay Pine Forest & Endowment Hima
About
At around 1,000 m above Hammana, Btekhnay is wrapped in vast stone-pine forests — the 'black gold' whose pine nuts long sustained the village. It has declared Lebanon's first endowment (waqf) Hima, a community-protected reserve laced with walking trails, springs and birdlife, while its centre keeps a landmark clock tower and Italian-style stone houses. It is a cool, green escape for forest walks and slow mountain days well off the tourist track.
