Palm Islands Nature Reserve (Jazr al-Nakhil)
About
About 5.5 km off El Mina, this reserve of three low limestone islands - Palm (Rabbits) Island, Sanani and Ramkine - is a Ramsar wetland and haven for sea turtles, monk seals and migratory birds. Reachable only by boat from El Mina port, the main island opens to visitors in summer for swimming, birdwatching and picnicking in its clear shallows. Bring water, sun protection and shade, as facilities are minimal.
