Deir Mar Chaaya Monastery & Farm, Broummana
About
Set among terraced orchards and pines in the hills east of Beirut, Deir Mar Chaaya (Saint Isaiah) is a Maronite monastery whose grounds open to the public as Ferme Mar Chaaya. Families come for the petting farm with goats, sheep, llamas and cows, an organic shop, and dishes prepared with produce grown on site. Quiet, green and little-known to tourists, it makes an easy half-day escape near Broummana.
