One of the grandest Roman sanctuaries ever built, this UNESCO World Heritage site in the Bekaa Valley preserves monumental temples, great courts and towering columns raised over centuries. Allow two to three hours to walk the acropolis, from the propylaea to the Temple of Jupiter and the exquisitely carved Temple of Bacchus. Open daily; admission is roughly 15,000 LBP (about USD 10).
