About
The Monastery of Saint Maron in Annaya sits at 1,200 m on a wooded Jbeil hillside and holds the tomb of Saint Charbel Makhlouf, drawing well over a million pilgrims a year. Visitors pray at the tomb chapel, walk up to the Hermitage of Saints Peter and Paul where the monk lived in silence for 23 years, and see a small museum of his belongings. His feast on the third Sunday of July is the busiest day of all.
