Run by the same family since the 1930s, Memory of Time (Mémoire du Temps) prepares and exhibits fossil fish, sharks, rays and shrimp quarried from the mountains above Byblos. The museum sits in the heart of the old souk and doubles as a shop where you can buy authentic prepared fossils. Entry is free, and the owners will gladly explain how each 100-million-year-old specimen is extracted.
