Machnaqa Roman Altar

About
High on the old road from Byblos toward Qartaba and Afqa, Machnaqa preserves a rare, almost complete Roman altar-tower dating to the 1st–2nd century AD. Set at around 950m in the upper Adonis (Nahr Ibrahim) valley, it was a ritual waypoint on the sacred route to the god's source. Reaching it means a scenic mountain drive and a short walk, rewarded by solitude and sweeping views.
