About
Hidden in the hills of Ghineh above Ghazir, this weathered boulder carries a Greco-Roman bas-relief long linked to the myth of Adonis: a hunter facing a charging bear, and a grieving seated woman set in a medallion. Nearby lie a so-called Tomb of Adonis and the ruins of a Roman temple later turned into a Byzantine church. It is a quiet, free stop for anyone drawn to Lebanon's ancient Adonis cult.
