About
Bikfaya's old quarter is a cluster of red-roofed stone houses among pine and oak, developed by the Abillama emirs and centred on Mar Abda church, first raised in 1587. A hilltop above the town holds the twin monasteries of Deir Mar Elias Chwaya, while the whole village fills with colour each August for its long-running Flower Festival. It remains one of the Matn's most beloved summer resorts.
