Monastery of Saint Anthony of Qozhaya
About
One of the Qadisha's grandest monasteries, Saint Anthony of Qozhaya sits on the Zgharta flank of the Holy Valley, with origins tradition traces to the 4th century. It famously housed the first printing press in the Middle East, printing a psalter from 1585, still on display, and shelters the deep Grotto of Saint Anthony beside its church. An active Maronite community welcomes pilgrims and visitors, and there is a small museum on site.
