Horsh Ehden Nature Reserve
About
One of Lebanon's richest nature reserves, Horsh Ehden protects around 1,740 hectares of cedar, fir, wild apple and juniper between 1,300 and 2,000 m on the northern slopes of Mount Lebanon. More than ten waymarked trails, from short family loops to longer climbs, thread through forest alive with birds, orchids and rare mammals. A visitor kiosk near the Nabaa Jouit entrance offers guides, picnic spots and small chalets, and it is best walked from spring to autumn.
