Cross of All Nations, Qanat Bakish

Qanat Bakish (near Baskinta), Faraya / Faqra·4.6(220)·Free

About

Rising 73.8 metres above the ridges of Qanat Bakish, about fifteen minutes from Faraya, the Cross of All Nations was inaugurated in 2010 and is billed as the largest illuminated cross in the world, lit by some 1,800 spotlights after dark. By day the terrace beside it is a quiet, little-visited viewpoint over the Kesrwan and Metn mountains; by night the glowing steel structure is visible for kilometres. A small older church stands nearby.
