About
Founded in 1923 by Joseph Nakad, Château Nakad is the oldest family-owned winery in Lebanon, still run by his descendants in the Bekaa village of Jdita near Chtaura. The cellars sit atop the ruins of a Bronze-Age winery, and the family produces reds, rosés, whites, sweet wines and the anisette arak Arack As-Samir. Call ahead for a relaxed guided tour and a tasting led by the winemaking family themselves.
