Qartaba Mountain Village
About
Perched at about 1,250 m on the heights above Byblos and the Adonis Valley, Qartaba is a classic Lebanese summer village of stone houses, apple orchards and more than a dozen churches. Walkers head for the Tellejet Qartaba karst formations that hold snow into summer, the Matkoube cave and the 16th-century Saints Sergius and Bacchus monastery. Cool air, wide views and hiking routes toward Afqa and Aaqoura make it an easy mountain escape.
