The Silk Museum, Bsous
About
Set among olive groves and terraced gardens below the village of Bsous in the Aley heights, this eco-museum occupies the last surviving example of the hundreds of silk factories that once powered Mount Lebanon's economy. Restored in a 1901 stone building and opened in 2000, it walks visitors through the whole cycle of sericulture, from mulberry leaves and silkworms to reeling, dyeing and weaving. A boutique, plant shop and shaded gardens round out the visit.
