Ras El Ain Phoenician Springs

About
A few kilometres south of Tyre, the Ras El Ain artesian springs rise inside octagonal stone reservoirs that have supplied the city with water since Phoenician days. One basin fed the arched Roman aqueduct whose surviving stretch toward Tell Maachouk still carries water today. Little visited by outsiders, it is a quietly atmospheric stop for anyone curious about ancient hydraulic engineering.
