About
One of Lebanon's finest surviving khans, Khan el-Franj was built in the early Ottoman period to house French merchants trading through Sidon's port. Its large courtyard, ringed by arcaded galleries around a central fountain, once held storerooms below and lodgings above. Restored by the Hariri Foundation, it now serves as a cultural centre and a tranquil escape from the souk.
