About
Founded in 1749 high above Kesrouan at around 930 m, Bzommar is the oldest surviving Armenian monastery in Lebanon and the patriarchal seat of the Armenian Catholic Church. Its Marian shrine, treasury of manuscripts and liturgical objects, and terraced views draw pilgrims and visitors alike. The complex is a living centre of Armenian faith and heritage in the mountains north of Beirut.
