About
About 800 metres southeast of Baalbek's great temples, Ras al-Ain is the spring that gave the city its name. Roman shrine remains and a Mamluk-era mosque sit beside a spring-fed basin, surrounded by shaded lawns, walking paths and small play areas where local families gather. It is a free, low-key spot to rest after touring the acropolis.
